A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
