Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police mentioned they were contacted by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Officers then found numerous other smeared vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police report preliminary tests show the fluid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were working "to unravel the case" and have asked to the community for tips.

A senior official commented the vandalism left him without words and required to be resolved quickly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a shooter aiming at individuals of migrant background in 2020.
